Your personal career brand describes the introspective perspective of how you see yourself and the external perspective of how others interpret your behaviors.
In the case of The Perfect Fit (TPF), you are the product. You are one of a kind, unique from any other individual. This makes you a rare and valuable product.
Identifying your brand is important in instilling self-value and in elevating yourself to your full potential. An important aspect to a job search, networking, or otherwise developing your career is to first understand what your brand image is. In other words, when people think about you, what do they think?
The perfect brand is comprised of four key elements, expertise, image, character and impact. Each brand element answers a critical question of how others see you.
A clear example of a brand's credibility is demonstrated every election year. Voters must decide which candidate to elect into office. The candidate who can demonstrate they have expertise in the job and empathize with the constituents has the best chance for winning the election.
Your brand credibility is two-fold:
1. Make sure you are accurate in what you say, and it is believable when you say it.
2. Make sure you understand the needs of the individuals you are speaking to and communicate directly to their points of interest.
